Orlando, Florida–in the intimate setting of The Abbey, a dedicated crowd gathered on Feb. 20 for a high-energy night of alternative and metalcore, featuring Catch Your Breath, The Funeral Portrait, Archers, and If Not for Me. With the dimly lit venue packed tight, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation as each band took their turn igniting the stage.

If Not For Me

If Not for Me opened the night with a blistering set, immediately proving they were more than just an opener. The Pennsylvania-based metalcore outfit delivered crushing breakdowns and melodic choruses, seamlessly blending aggression with emotion. Vocalist Pat Glover commanded the stage with a fierce presence, urging the early crowd to engage in the first pits of the night.

Archers

Archers followed, bringing their unique brand of post-hardcore intensity. The band’s dynamic performance was filled with soaring vocals and hard-hitting instrumentals, fueling the crowd’s energy. Their set balanced melody and heaviness, keeping fans engaged as they transitioned from anthemic singalongs to headbanging breakdowns.

The Funeral Portrait

The Funeral Portrait took the stage next, dialing up the theatrics. Frontman Lee Jennings, known for his dramatic stage presence, captivated the audience with haunting melodies and explosive screams. Their blend of rock and post-hardcore created a dark, cinematic atmosphere, making every song feel like a performance rather than just a track on the setlist. Fans sang along passionately, feeding off the band’s theatrical energy.

Catch Your Breath

By the time Catch Your Breath hit the stage, the crowd was primed and ready. The Texas-based band, riding the momentum of their growing popularity, delivered an electrifying set filled with raw emotion and powerful choruses. Tracks like Dial Tone and Shame On Me had the crowd shouting every word, while heavier cuts brought forth an eruption of moshing and headbanging. The band’s chemistry was undeniable, each member fully immersed in the performance.

Despite the smaller venue, the energy inside The Abbey felt like that of an arena show. The intimacy only heightened the experience, allowing fans to connect closely with the bands. From start to finish, the night was a showcase of passion, proving that whether in a massive stadium or a tight-knit club, live music’s impact remains the same.
