Song Review: House Lights - "Forget You"

Reigning from Manchester, New Hampshire, House Lights is an act that brings a nostalgic emo and metalcore sound with modern post-hardcore. The band's new track "Forget You" was released on February 21st–it quickly showcases the bands duality of heavy and melodic elements as screaming and singing is alternated while bright guitar leads fill in the background. House Lights bursts into the first chorus within 20 seconds, wasting no time and hooking listeners almost immediately.
House Lights brings back a brutally heavy sound in an unexpected breakdown with explosive screams, double bass drumming, and low-end heavy guitar chugs. House Lights creates a massive anthemic chorus while having fierce heavy sections, showcasing the New Hampshire acts ability to switch between extreme metal and a more melodic sound instantaneously. Intense contrast between dynamic and addictive singing and crushingly-heavy interludes creates a widely varied and powerfully interesting sound that stays fresh throughout "Forget You".
You can stream House Light's new single out on all streaming platforms. Fans of punk, 2000s emo and metalcore, and extreme metal genres will certainly enjoy House Lights equally nostalgic and modern take on the genres.
