STRIKER unleashed their 7th studio album “ULTRAPOWER” this year, working with seasoned producer, Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Tallah, King 810). Released via Record Breaking Records, Striker follows their 2018 Juno Award-winning LP, “Play to Win”.

The band has been writing since 2018 and has had time to experiment and reinvent aspects of their musical style, bringing something new and unexpected from the band. From anthemic hair metal tracks to crushingly heavy riffs to progressive metal and 80s electronic rock that takes inspiration from acts like Toto—there is an impressive amount of variation and musical influences that keep “ULTRAPOWER” wildly interesting.

Striker had this to say:

“Starting with the album cover, we wanted the artwork to represent how we feel as a band right now. We are an engine that is fired up and ready to roll. We’re made of metal and our circuits gleam! The album itself is an amalgamation of 5 years of writing and exploring music. With influences from AOR to Speed Metal, Hardcore to Hair Metal, Steely Dan to Deathcore, you name it, it made its way into the album. In the end with the help of Josh Schroeder’s guiding hand, we melted it all together to present something uniquely Striker. Lyrically we’ve stuck to the Striker tradition of writing montage songs for movies that don’t exist, songs about our spiraling serfdom, and lyrics about the evils that lurk in the shadows.”

Forming in 2007, Striker has played nearly 1,000 shows including massive festivals like 70 Tons of Metal and Bang Your Head Festival. In their 17 years, Striker has earned multiple Canadian awards (Juno, Western Canadian Music, and Edmonton Music awards). With 7 released studio albums Striker has built an impressive reputation for themselves particularly in their home country, Canada.

ULTRAPOWER” is available now in CD, Digital, or Vinyl format here. You can watch the band’s latest official music video “Live To Fight Another Day” below.

In addition to the release of Striker’s new album, the 4-piece Canadian act also launched the Shredding North America tour as direct support to headliner, Seven Kingdoms. The 2024 tour will also have support from Lutharo, and Osyron.
