Review
Boston Metal act, Black Diamond Fortress released their 2-song EP "Two Rat Bastards" on March 17th. The first track, "FIRE" starts off with rapid thrash drum fills and heavy-hitting guitar riffage. With a racing tempo and soaring guitar leads, ferocious growls join the fray, creating a brutal and complete atmosphere. Mixing elements of a nostalgic classic metal sound, thrash, death metal, and modern production, Black Diamond Fortress creates a distinct and enjoyable sound. Blending crushingly heavy instrumental violence with powerful extreme vocals, FIRE is brimming with energy and fades out with an intense breakdown.
The second and final track, "HATED" starts with distorted guitar riffage that bursts into dark chugging and volatile screams. With multiple vocal tracks, Black Diamond Fortress creates a choir-like effect of screaming instrumentals in a powerful chorus with dynamic guitar chords filling in the background. Impactful double bass drumming adds percussive emphasis, working alongside the band's brutally heavy sound to create an expertly crafted soundscape.
With "Two Rat Bastards" being Black Diamond Fortress's second-ever release, the band displays promising potential and leaves fans excited to see what the band will create next. Fans of death metal, classic metal, and thrash will definitely enjoy Black Diamond Fortress. You can stream "Two Rat Bastards" out everywhere now!
